The Wonderful World of Navistar – Plus! August 8 through August 17, 2012 Leaders – Bill and JeanAnn Miller
This Monacos-in-Motion caravan will feature tours of Navistar plants and facilities and get to know more about our parent company. In Melrose Park, Illinois the Navistar plant is 47 acres under one roof – and we will be visiting during an exciting year when many facilities are being moved to Melrose Park. At the same time our Roadmaster Chassis division will have moved to Indiana as well as our coach assembly lines. One of Navistar’s largest truck assembly plants is in Springfield, Ohio and hopefully our last tour will be there. 2012 work and production schedules as well as construction times and completions have some of our plans currently uncompleted until after the first of the year. We will keep you updated as these plans are completed. Have you ever visited the fun and vibrant city of Chicago? We will be touring and exploring Chicago where we will tour the Willis Tower (tallest building in America), experience the Navy Pier, take an architectural boat ride of the downtown and feel the thrill of a speed boat ride taking in the Chicago skyline on Lake Michigan. We will go to the Museum of Science and Industry and take a charter bus tour of Chicago. We will tour historic Wrigley Field and take in a Chicago Cubs game, and then sample Lou Malnati’s famous pizza. In Indiana, we will tour the Wakarusa Monaco plant and the Roadmaster chassis plant in Elkhart. We will also visit the RV Museum, tour the Notre Dame campus, and sample the Amish ambience of Shipsewanna. In Ohio, we will hopefully tour the Springfield Navistar plant as well as the quaint town of Dresden to experience the history of the Longaberger Basket Company (and perhaps make your own basket). The caravan cost will include all attractions and tours, one breakfast, 3 lunches and 7 dinners, and all campsite costs. Total caravan cost is $1,450. A completed registration APPLICATION and deposit of $700 will be due on or before March 31, 2012, with the balance of $750 due by June 30. Make checks payable to: William F.
